The P2E Games in 2025: My Experience Winning While Playing

Wow! The world of play-to-earn games has changed quite a bit. After trying dozens of these games for months, I have discovered that not all of them are what they promise. After the brutal bearish market we experienced, many garbage projects disappeared, leaving only those with real value.

Here I share with you my 5 favorite P2E games that are really generating income for me in 2025:

1. Illuvium

Genre: Auto-battler + open world RPG

The graphic quality left me speechless - finally a blockchain game that looks AAA! Built on Immutable, it has hooked me with its combination of PvE, PvP, and land system.

I have been earning around 50€/month by combining active trading and staking, although some days I get frustrated with the server failures. The community is quite active, although sometimes too toxic when they criticize any change.

2. Big Time

Genre: Action RPG

Real-time combat is addictive, and the drops of NFTs have allowed me to earn by selling rare equipment. The "Time Crystals" are the foundation of their economy, although they have suffered quite a bit of inflation lately.

I am making about 30€/month farming equipment and trading, although I need to dedicate too many hours daily. The backing from venture capital gives me some confidence, but I'm afraid they will abandon the project if it doesn't grow faster.

3. Pixels (en Ronin)

Genre: Farming Simulator

This surprised me! A casual farming game that reminds me of the good times of FarmVille but with real asset ownership. The experience on Ronin is extremely fast and there are hardly any fees.

I earn about 20€/month doing daily tasks and staking. The recent airdrop of tokens $PIXEL attracted a lot of new people, but I'm worried that many are only coming for quick money and not to enjoy the game.

4. Nyan Heroes

Genre: Shooter with cats in mechs

Cats piloting combat robots? Yes, please! This competitive shooter with NFT heroes has me hooked, although it is still in early alpha and the controls sometimes fail.

The potential for airdrop is what keeps many playing, but I stay for the fun. Unreal Engine gives it a fantastic look when there are no bugs.

5. Shrapnel

Genre: Extraction Shooter

Created by veterans of Halo and CoD, this game has brutal quality. The NFTs for loadouts and skins are interesting, but the best part is the tools for content creators.

The potential for royalties for creators is enormous, although it remains to be seen whether it will achieve a mass audience. I have invested time creating maps in hopes of future rewards.

My conclusion

Web3 gaming has matured. It's no longer just about "play to earn" but rather "have fun while earning something". If you're looking for fun with an additional benefit (between 30-200€/month), these games are worth your time.

What no one tells you is that none will bring fortunes as Axie promised in 2021 - that bubble burst. But if you like games and want to own your digital assets, there are interesting options.

The developers who survived the crypto winter have learned: first fun, then tokenomics. And so it should be.
