A Car That Was Bought For 1,000 BTC Is Auctioned As A Bitcoin Historical Artifact
A Prius car was on display at the Bitcoin2023 conference, signed by Bitcoin Magazine CEO David Bailey and a group of Bitcoin OGs such as Tone Vays, Andreas Antonopolous, David Ripley, Rassah, Samson Mow, Lyn Ulbricht, Johnny Dollar, Pepnardo, Eryka Gemma, Scott Talon, Bruce Fenton, and more.
The iconic car is named after Bitcoin pioneer Rassah who bought it in 2013 for 1,000 BTC (worth only $22,000 at the time). Thus, dubbed the first bitcoin car, the car is currently up for auction on Scarce.City, with bidding closing on Saturday, May 20th at 11pm ET. While the famous "Bitcoin Pizza" is long gone, the car remains a tangible and integral part of Bitcoin's "first."
